It's good to be home.

So graduation weekend went by super fast. I'm not complaining just had to say it. Graduation itself was pretty cool the two ceremonies were interesting and everyone was excited to finally be done. The after party was great due to the fantastic Macados trays that we ordered. Yum ... gunna miss that place.
Sunday was spent packing up the apartment. We packed a u-haul trailer full and it didn't really take us that long to do it. The majority of the time was spent cleaning. That place was a mess. Saturday night my parents and I went over to tech and walked around. We walked around the memorials and looked at all the messages that were sent from all over the country. After, I took my parents to The Cellar. I enjoyed going there for the last time, before I don't have the opportunity to go back again for awhile.
This morning my dad and I went back into Radford and did the walk-through with the realty company which didn't take that long but the idiot that was suppose to be there at 9 didn't make his way there till we called the office a quarter after. After that (about ten o'clock am) we made our way home. It was going well until we ran into traffic at the tunnel and we didn't get home till five o'clock. I unloaded the trailer in just about forty minutes and went over to see Tiffany for a little bit.
Now, I'm here.  I start my internship at the Therapeutic Recreation Center Wednesday at eight-thirty in the morning. I'm not going to lie, I'm really excited but i still have a lot of apprehension about it all. There are some ideas running through my head.
1. did the teachings at Radford truly prepare me for the real field?
2. am i ready to start working in the field with the limited experience?
3. do i have enough exposure to the variety of clients and populations i will be working with.
I guess all these questions are the reason why we have to do internships. Hopefully the answers will be the product of my internship at the TRC.
I am however really excited about this Saturday. It's the day for disabilities at the norfolk zoo. My first real event and it just happens to be the biggest event for the TRC all year.  Hope i survive it.

Next step/goal: NCTRC NATIONAL EXAM!!!!!  (then i will become a CTRS (certified therapeutic recreation specialist))
And of course get a job!
If i don't update for about 3 months... blame the internship...
hopefully i will have time though...
we shall see.

Moses and the Plagues...

I have a bad habit of not updating.. It is a busy time of year, for everyone. I am three weeks away from graduating. I couldn't be anymore excited!
This weekend was a lot of fun. My weekend actually started Thursday because I didn't have any classes and Tiffany came to visit me. She even made a Passover basket for me! It was filled with all sorts of goodies! We hungout all day, played some mario cart and ended up going out to J.D.'s for a few drinks that night. Friday we lounged around and watched the O.C. and (yes i'll admit it) gilmore girls. We also made sweet drawings of Moses. Tiffany made a masterpiece of Moses and the Plagues! It was breathtaking!  Friday night we made dinner and it was really good! Itallian chicken, shells and cheese, and yeast rolls... yummmm. Saturday we met Curtis for lunch at Macados. After lunch Tiffany headed back home due to the bad weather approaching. Even though it was a short visit I enjoyed spending time with her, I always do. :-)
Later, Curtis and I made our way to Tech to hangout over there. We went over to Shesha and split a hookah, played checkers, and table soccer with pennies. It was fantastic and we were really entertained by it all. Abigail and her boyfriend Jeff met up with us and we went over to Soundfest. We saw the vb band Tokyo, they were really good. Go see them if you get a chance they rock out pretty good! After Tokyo we play some video games that were set up in the back of the room of Soundfest. Ah memories... Motral Kombat 3 .. ha. Also, Ms. Pacman! good times! Prior to Soundfest and the one band we stayed for we walked over to the Cellar. Which wasn't the same without Tiffany, however it was a lot of fun because of the group that was there. We joked around had some drinks and ate some good food and stayed there for a good few hours. Curtis and I went back over to soundfest and watched Strighlight Run. They were pretty good. After that I headed back to Radford. Overall I had a great weekend.
Next week i will be heading to Longwood for Tiffany's AST Ball. I'm pretty excited to go, she has a lot of awesome friends there and i know we will all have a fun time!
In the mean time i just have to survive this week.... Boring classes and working on end of the semester projects ... blah... oh well ... almost done....
Well hopefully I won't wait so long to update again. last time I said that it was over a month. We shall see...

Well ... the bet is over.... Spring break has gotten the best of me. Friday Tiffany and I went to Wild Wing Cafe (great place! btw) and you can't have one without the other .. right? I had a beer with my wings. Oh well I did the best I could with holding out .. until this weekend.
Yesterday, Tiffany and I got up early and went down to Rudee Inlet and got on a boat and went whale watching. It was a lot of fun and we saw some a couple fin whales. I had never heard of fin whales before but they were huge. The only bad part of the trip is that we didn't see any whales until the last twenty minutes of the excursion. That  was the only down fall but at least we saw some whales!  After whale watching we went to the Virginia Aquarium, or the Marine Science Museum. We walked around and saw all the different exhibits it was really nice. I liked sitting and watching the fish and sharks the best. Tiffany and I agreed that it makes us sad to see these great animals in captivity. They really do belong in the wild (what can ya do about it though?). There was a penguin exhibit which was really sweet because they just chillin and playin .. it was awesome.
After the museum I went and played some basketball with shaner and some people. I'm not really that great at basketball. It was still fun to get outside and be in the nice weather.
Saturday night I went to Cheeseburger in Paradise. I love that place. Great food and moderately priced drinks. Yes, I had beer! Following the dinner Tiffany and I went over the the mall and saw the movie 300. The only thing was that more people were suppose to go but somehow it ended up being just us. Which I was totally fine with. The movie was amazing. Everyone that I talked to that saw it said it seemed like it ran long or just seemed like the end dragged a little. I thought it went by fast. It was action packed and very well done.
Today, I plan to hangout with my parents and later on go over to Tiffany's house because her parents are cooking out. Her mom made a peanut butter and chocolate pie!!! I'm stoked! Her parents are awesome. They are always so nice to me. The food they make... amazing!
Well thats all i got for now. I'll prolly be posting more since I'm on break now.

monthly update..

I haven't updated in almost a month. Wow! The funny part is this month went by pretty fast. Spring break is coming up and i'm really looking forward to spending a week at home. Mostly to catch up on some sleep and to hangout with everyone. Then again, i guess thats what spring break is for.
I made a bet with Tiffany and i could give up beer for 40 days (or lent). I have been keeping to that bet, so far that is. I can still drink liquor though so i guess thats the compensation for giving up beer. Even though i don't drink that much anymore it's still kinda hard giving up something. I always forget. It's like fasting for Yom Kippur, I always get home and want to drink or eat something and forget that im suppose to be fasting. Anyway, I'm sure i will be able to keep to our bet though. I just have to figure out when its over. I think its easter?
So school has been going .... well going. There is some work nothing major. I started organizing a reference manual for my personal library. It will basically be a break down of different disabilities into categories (i.e. neurological impairment, etc.), a brief description of the specific disability, and programming ideas for each section. I hope that i will be able to use this for my senior (special) project for my internship along with a special program that the agency will have me do. Well thats about all the academic ramble i have. I'm just ready to graduate.
This weekend was spent watching movies. I watched the departed (go rent it if you havent seen it) and a guide to recognizing your saints (based on a true story). If you havent seen this movie you should probably rent it. Its pretty depressing but its a good story. This morning i watch hollywoodland, it was worth watching just to see all the side of what went on.
Well, that is all for now...

Rain Rain Go Away...

Ernesto
Ernesto
Before this weekend started my attention was directed to the weatherbecause a system called Ernesto was a possible threat of ruining most if not all labor day plans. I tried not to worry about it because at the time I was conserned it was still in Caribbean waters. Of course as we all know now it changed paths and directed itself up the east coast.
So the plan originally was that Tiffany was going to visit on Friday after she got out of work. Well..... since Ernesto hit Friday ... everything was looking grim.  Tiffany couldn't even make it in to work until lateafternoon. Well thank goodness everything cleared up early Friday evening so Saturday morning she was able to make her way up.
Saturday after she arriced we went to eat lunch. Yep, you guessed it. We ate at Macados. Even after a few days of rain it turned out to be a pretty nice day. After lunch we we to the park, threw the Frisbee and hungout and just relaxed. It was really nice.
Later, my ex-roommate Travis got in and we watched some college football and chilled out resting up for the evening festivities. We played some beer pong, and i must say I have the best partner ever! Then we made our way to BT's.
Sunday was just recovering Radford style with a morning trip to Joe's Diner .... mmmm joe's breakfast .... The rest of the day was spent with some good quality buddy time and some entertaining movie viewing.
So, the weekend ended up being fantastic.
Hurray for having a great weekend!
Hurray for some wonderful plans to come!
