It's good to be home.
So graduation weekend went by super fast. I'm not complaining just had to say it. Graduation itself was pretty cool the two ceremonies were interesting and everyone was excited to finally be done. The after party was great due to the fantastic Macados trays that we ordered. Yum ... gunna miss that place.
Sunday was spent packing up the apartment. We packed a u-haul trailer full and it didn't really take us that long to do it. The majority of the time was spent cleaning. That place was a mess. Saturday night my parents and I went over to tech and walked around. We walked around the memorials and looked at all the messages that were sent from all over the country. After, I took my parents to The Cellar. I enjoyed going there for the last time, before I don't have the opportunity to go back again for awhile.
This morning my dad and I went back into Radford and did the walk-through with the realty company which didn't take that long but the idiot that was suppose to be there at 9 didn't make his way there till we called the office a quarter after. After that (about ten o'clock am) we made our way home. It was going well until we ran into traffic at the tunnel and we didn't get home till five o'clock. I unloaded the trailer in just about forty minutes and went over to see Tiffany for a little bit.
Now, I'm here. I start my internship at the Therapeutic Recreation Center Wednesday at eight-thirty in the morning. I'm not going to lie, I'm really excited but i still have a lot of apprehension about it all. There are some ideas running through my head.
1. did the teachings at Radford truly prepare me for the real field?
2. am i ready to start working in the field with the limited experience?
3. do i have enough exposure to the variety of clients and populations i will be working with.
I guess all these questions are the reason why we have to do internships. Hopefully the answers will be the product of my internship at the TRC.
I am however really excited about this Saturday. It's the day for disabilities at the norfolk zoo. My first real event and it just happens to be the biggest event for the TRC all year. Hope i survive it.
Next step/goal: NCTRC NATIONAL EXAM!!!!! (then i will become a CTRS (certified therapeutic recreation specialist))
And of course get a job!
If i don't update for about 3 months... blame the internship...
hopefully i will have time though...
we shall see.
